Mertina Writing Services (MWS) hires editors, writers, and tutors on a part-time basis.

Information for Potential Editors:

Description: Mertina Writing Services is a full-service writing business. We specialize in academic editing, writing tutoring, and application consulting.

Particularly, we help students with personal statements, essays, and theses/ dissertations. However, we also edit full-length non-fiction, edit resumes and CV’s, and provide academic consultation to those applying to undergrad and graduate programs. We are looking for editors who will maintain the level of professionalism and speed that our clients expect. We offer up to one business day turnaround times for shorter jobs so our editors will need to be ready to go during their designated "on call" work hours. 

Our editors work from home on a part-time basis. Our editors' schedules are flexible and work according to their needs. Most jobs will fall within the realm of academic editing so we’ll be looking for candidates with experience in that area.

We're currently looking for editors who can dedicate time to long-term projects such as manuscript and dissertation editing along with continuous writing tutoring clients. 

 

GENERAL HIRING INFORMATION

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree holder who can demonstrate strong writing and editing ability.

  • Experience with writing tutoring, editing, or anything else that’s related.

  • Regular access to MS Word and the Internet.

Pay:

$25/hour for consulting and tutoring. $10-15/hour for editing. $15-$20/hour for ghostwriting. 

Hours:

Approximately 5-10 hours per week.* 
*A specific number of hours can't be guaranteed. However, during busy periods (such as midterms and finals) our editors may choose to work more than the estimated 10 hours. During slower times, our editors may not receive 5 hours a week depending on their stated availability.
